The Kerala Legislative Assembly held a three-hour exercise on Tuesday on the controversial gold smuggling case. The next day, Swapna Suresh, one of the accused in the case, opened his mouth again on Wednesday. He said that what Chief Minister Pinarayi said in the assembly was a complete lie. The main ringleader of this deal is the daughter of the Chief Minister.

Swapna Suresh said, at first he used to say he didn’t know me. After the Chief Minister’s response, I went to his house many times with the officials of the consulate. The government should release CCTV footage of how many times I visited his house from 2016 to 2020.

He said that he had held closed-door meetings with the Chief Minister’s family many times outside the diplomatic rules. He used to force me to come to those meetings for his family.

His claim is that the Chief Minister’s daughter Bina Vijayan is the mastermind behind the sprinkler deal. He also smuggled information to US firms. Later, when the opposition raised the issue in 2020, the Chief Minister asked Chief Secretary M Shivshankar to take responsibility.

He said that Shiva Shankar also told me that he was sacrificed.

The state’s IT department struck a deal with US software company Sprinkler during the Covid supermarket. At the grassroots level, there is talk of processing the information that health workers are bringing up. But the deal was not about money. Opposition groups called for a boycott of the assembly. It was later learned that the agreement was reached without consulting the cabinet and the law department.
