T’PURAM: The state has reported 1,421 cases from 29,754 samples tested in the last 24 hours. The TPR has come down to 4.77%. With 17 more deaths in the past few days being recorded as Covid deaths and 71 deaths added from the appeals received, the death toll has climbed to 66,462.
Total active cases are 11,879, of which 9% of people are admitted either in hospitals or other treatment centres. At the same time, 2,130 patients have recovered from the disease.
Of the cases reported on the day, 1,276 cases got infected through local contacts, and the source of infection for 67 is unknown. Ernakulam reported maximum number of cases – 304.
There are 43,384 persons presently under observation in various districts of the state, of which 42,289 are at home/institutional quarantine centres, and 1,095 are in isolation at hospitals. TNN
