Kashmiri Medical Student Dies In Bangladesh, Omar Abdullah Urges MEA To Bring Back Body

New Delhi: A student of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district died in Bangladesh on Wednesday morning in Sirajganj. She was pursuing MBBS at Khwaja Yunus Ali Medical College and Hospital, Bangladesh. Meanwhile, several Kashmiri politicians including former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah appealed to the External Affairs Ministry to help repatriate the body of Khushboo Manzoor.

“The family is desperate to repatriate the mortal remains of Khusboo so she can be buried by the family & loved ones at home rather than far away surrounded by strangers. Please help,” write Omar on his Twitter.

News agency KNO quoted a family member as saying that Khushboo Manzoor, daughter of Manzoor Ahmed of Katu village in Bijbehara, fell from her college hostel building on Tuesday. The family member said that he died in the hospital today. The family appealed to the authorities concerned to help in bringing his body back for the last rites.
