Karnataka: ACB sleuths nab PDO red-handed while receiving bribe | Mysuru News – Times of India

MYSURU: A panchayath development officer (PDO) was caught red-handed while receiving cash from a complainant at his office in Karnataka‘s Hunsur on Thursday.
Mandya ACB deputy superintendent of police M Dharmendra, who is holding an additional charge in Mysuru, said that following a complaint from a resident of Niluvagilu village, Hunsur, that Tattekere gram panchayat PDO has been demanding money for official work, a trap was laid on Thursday.
PDO Sathish Kumar was caught soon after receiving Rs 5,000 from the complainant at his office around 4.30pm on Thursday.
The complainant had applied for grants under a government scheme for the construction of cattle shed five months back. He was sanctioned Rs 28,000 from the government. To release the amount, the official had allegedly placed a demand for money on January 19, the DySP stated.
