Jr NTR To Star In Yash Raj Fims’ War 2, Set To Take On Hrithik Roshan For A Fierce Battle

New Delhi: After roping in filmmaker Ayan Mukerji to direct the spy action-thriller ‘War 2’, Yash Raj Films have now signed Jr NTR for the film, also starring Hrithik Roshan.

Hrithik, who played the role of Kabir in ‘War’, will be seen taking on Jr NTR in a bloody battle that will be an adrenaline-pumping action extravaganza.

A source confirmed the update to ABP News and said, “Yes, it’s absolutely correct information. NTR Jr. is locking horns with Hrithik Roshan in ‘War 2,’ and it’s going to be an epic action adventure. Their battle of wits and the fierce showdown will be an action spectacle worth experiencing on the big screen. ‘War ‘2 is now a true-blue Pan India film. The move by Aditya Chopra enables ‘War 2′ to have the widest audience appeal for a Hindi Film and also amps up the box office potential of the film. The Southern market should come alive and connect at an even bigger level due to the presence of their beloved young tiger – NTR Jr.”

The source added that Jr NTR is extremely picky about his films. “If he has given the film a nod, it means War 2 is eclipsing the first film in terms of plot as well as scale. Hrithik Roshan vs Jr NTR will be a fight to remember. Jr NTR’s inclusion has made this proposition extremely delicious for audiences”.

Earlier on Tuesday, Ayan Mukerji took to Instagram and talked about directing a ‘special movie’ but didn’t name the film. He wrote, “The Universe has presented me with a very special opportunity recently – a very special movie – to step into and direct! What the movie is… More on that when the time is right. An opportunity that challenges me and terribly excites me… one where I will learn, be inspired and where I will grow! So, I have decided to take it up!!  Opening myself up to all the positive energies in this universe so I can do my best and contribute to that one thing that matters most to me – Indian Cinema!”

‘War’, released in 2019, was helmed by ‘Pathaan’ director Siddharth Anand. The film also starred Tiger Shroff.
