J&K: 5 Terrorists Arrested And 2 Terror Modules Busted By Security Forces In Kulgam

Security forces dismantled two terror modules in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam area on Sunday and captured five ‘hybrid’ terrorists, according to police. According to a police officer, they were carrying two handguns, three hand grenades, one UBGL, and some ammo. According to the official, the arrested individuals are Aadil Hussain Wani, Suhail Ahmad Dar, Aitmad Ahmad Laway, Mehraj Ahmad Lone, and Sabzar Ahmad Khaar. 

He stated that a FIR has been filed at the Qaimoh police station and that an investigation is underway.

The incident comes about a month after police raided a terror cell in Bandipora, North Kashmir, and detained two persons in possession of weapons and ammunition.

The arrests were made as part of a combined operation between the 26th Assam Rifles and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

Earlier on Saturday, in Baramulla, Jammu & Kashmir, two militants from the TRF outfit, an offshoot of the outlawed terror organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), were detained by police and security officers, and incriminating materials, firearms, and ammo were confiscated from their possessions. According to an official statement issued by the Baramulla police, on September 21, police in north Kashmir’s Baramulla learned from reliable sources that one individual, Yaseen Ahmad Shah, son of Tariq Ahmad and a resident of Janbazpora Baramulla, had gone missing and had joined the proscribed terror outfit TRF, believed to be an offshoot of Pakistan-based LeT.

According to the statement, a case was opened in Baramulla Police Station under relevant sections of the law, and an investigation was begun.

“On receipt of this information, based on human/technical intelligence, a joint team of Baramulla Police, Army & CAPF during MVCP checking at Tapper Pattan apprehended the said militant. Incriminating materials, arms and ammunition including 1 Pistol, 1 Pistol Magazine and 8 live rounds were recovered from his possession,” the police spokesperson stated.
