J&K | 2 LeT Terrorists Involved In TV Actress Amreen Bhat’s Murder Neutralised: IGP Kashmir

New Delhi: The Jammu and Kashmir police on Friday informed that two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists, involved in the murder of Kashmiri TV actress Amreen Bhat, have been neutralised in Avantipora. “Heinous murder case of TV artist Amreen Bhat solved in 24 hours…10 terrorists including three from Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and seven from Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terror outfits killed in three days in Kashmir Valley,” said Inspector General of Police (IGP) Vijay Kumar, as quoted by news agency ANI.

The police informed that two LeT terrorists were killed in Srinagar’s Soura on Thursday night. They have been identified as Shakir Ahmed Waza and Afreen Aftab Malik. Police recovered incriminating materials, including arms and ammunition.

According to ANI, the two more killed LeT terrorists were killed in Awantipora, in connection with TV artist Amreen Bhat’s murder.

On Wednesday, Kashmiri TV actress Amreen Bhat was killed by terrorists in Budgam’s Chadoora area in Jammu and Kashmir. Her 10-year-old nephew sustained a bullet injury on his arm and was hospitalised.

Zubair Ahmed, Amreen Bhat’s brother-in-law, said, “Two people came to her house to call her for a shoot. When she stepped outside the house they killed her. What harm had she caused to anyone?”

“Two people came to our home to call her for a shoot last night. They shot her after she told them that she would not go for the shoot. She was like a ‘son’ to me,” Amreen Bhat’s father told ANI.
