Jharkhand Violence: Things improved in Ranchi, prohibitory orders were lifted from six police station areas, 12 people in custody so far

The situation is improving rapidly after the violence that broke out in Jharkhand’s capital Ranchi on Friday. In view of this, on Sunday afternoon, the district administration has lifted prohibitory orders from six out of twelve police station areas. He said that barring the main road and six nearby police station areas, prohibitory orders were lifted from other six police station areas of the city from today afternoon. He said that people in the violence-affected areas were allowed to come out of their homes for their essential work from 1 pm to 5 pm, but everyone is directed that they should not, in any case, gather more than four numbers together. Meanwhile, Dr. DK Sinha, spokesperson of Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences said that out of 13 injured admitted in the institute, six have been discharged from the hospital after treatment. He said that one of the injured, Nadeem Ansari, is in critical condition and has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital.

Earlier, in view of the reduction in tension in all parts of the state including Ranchi, internet service was restored in the capital Ranchi for the last thirty-six hours today. On the other hand, heavy deployment of paramilitary forces and police has been continued in Ranchi and adjoining areas.

Jharkhand Police Spokesperson and Inspector General (Action) AV Homkar said that while expediting action in connection with stone pelting, vandalism and violence by a mob of hundreds of people after Friday prayers in Ranchi, five thousand including 24 named So far 25 FIRs have been registered against unknown people. He said that 12 people have been taken into custody for questioning. Apart from this, six persons, who were taken into custody on Saturday, have been released after interrogation, he said.
