Hazaribagh Superintendent of Police (SP) Manoj Ratan Chhote said in a press conference that we had received secret information that a squad of Naxalites is active in the forests of Khapia under Giddi police station area for the last two-three days. This squad had carried out the firing incident on March 2 near the fork of CCL Rallygadha Colliery. A joint operation was carried out by the Hazaribagh Police and the 22 battalion team of CRPF to nab the Naxalites.

Manoj Ratan Chhote told that a country-made semi-carbine, two country-made pistols, 10 live cartridges, two live cartridges of 12 bore, three mobile phones and a black colored bag inside which Maoist uniform has been recovered from the Naxalites . In this regard, a case has been registered in Giddi police station under case number 36/22 Arms Act and 17 CLA.

He said that these Naxalites are involved in 45 cases of extortion and criminal activities. The official said cases against him are pending since 2015. He said that raids are on to nab other members of the group, who managed to escape in the dark.
