Jharkhand: Those demanding Kolhan country gheraoed the police station, pelted stones at the police, situation tense

On Sunday, protesters gheraoed the Muffasil police station in Chaibasa, located in West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand. These people were demanding to create a separate Kolhan country. According to the information, hundreds of these people were carrying traditional weapons. To bring the situation under control, the police resorted to lathi-charge and lobbed tear gas shells. On the other hand, the protesters also attacked the police.
During this, seven police personnel are reported to be injured, who have been admitted to the hospital. According to the information, an arrow pierced through the body of a police personnel. In fact, the police had arrested four people who recruited the police in the name of Kolhan country this morning. With the demand to release these people, these protesters gheraoed the police station.

Actually, some organizations in the state were planning to recruit teachers and police for a separate Kolhan country. Regarding this, a training and educational certificate check was being done from 7 am in Ladurabasa School of Kursi Panchayat under Mufassil police station area. When the police got information about this, action was taken and four people were detained from there.

Movement for ‘Kolhan Desh’ is going on for a long time
Angered by the action of the police, those who supported the demand of Kolhan country attacked the police itself. According to the information, some people in the area have been running a movement for a long time demanding a separate Kolhan country. In the past, action has been taken regarding this and appointment letters were being distributed illegally. A jawan of the CoBRA battalion is also among those arrested today in this incident.
