Monsoon session of Jharkhand Legislative Assembly is going to start from today. The session will have a total of six working days and is likely to conclude on August 5. The ED on August 1 summoned Abhishek Prasad alias Pintu, press advisor to the chief minister, for questioning in a money laundering probe related to an alleged illegal mining scam in Jharkhand. On July 19, the ED had arrested Soren’s political aide Pankaj Mishra in this case.

During the session, the state government will also present the first supplementary budget for the current financial year. The main opposition BJP has prepared to lay siege to the government during the session on issues like illegal mining in the state, murder of a woman sub-inspector in Ranchi, Friday instead of Sunday in government schools.
