A minor was injured in an IED blast planted by the banned CPI (Maoist) in West Singhbhum district on Tuesday. A police officer gave this information.

According to the official, the incident took place when the CPI (Maoists) blasted near Arhata village. A thirteen year old boy came in its grip.

In-charge of Goilkera police station Rahul Singh said that the injured have been taken to the health center for first aid. Earlier in November and December last year, two villagers were killed in two separate IED blasts by CPI (Maoist) members in the district.

Today’s incident took place at a time when Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren is at Chaibasa district headquarters, about 30 to 35 km from the spot. The Chief Minister is holding a review meeting of development works with senior officials of the district before participating in the ‘Khatian Jauhar’ Yatra.
