Politics continues over Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s assembly membership. Governor Ramesh Bains, who visited Delhi for a week, has returned. Before he reached Ranchi, the BJP had clarified its stand and assured that he would soon present his side regarding the Chief Minister.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s assembly membership is in danger of being terminated. Before coming to Delhi, Ramesh Bains had on September 1 assured ruling party MLAs that he would clarify on the recommendation of the Election Commission on the Chief Minister’s request for termination of assembly membership in the office of profit matter.
According to media reports, even after the governor returned to Ranchi, he has not issued any order yet. Whereas the Election Commission of India has sent its decision to the Governor on 25 August itself. After sending the decision on behalf of the Election Commission of India, a political crisis has arisen in Jharkhand. However, the decision of the Election Commission has not been formally announced yet. There is speculation that the commission has recommended disqualification of the CM as an MLA.
