According to Chief Justice Dr. Ravi Ranjan and Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad, the CBI is yet to ascertain the motive of the murder. Not only this, the agency has not been able to reveal the name of any other person involved in the murder conspiracy so far. The High Court had also lambasted the agency on the charge sheet filed in October. The court had said that the agency was acting like Babu and had also raised questions on the charge sheet filed by him.

The CBI had earlier told the court that its investigation was in full swing and soon it would solve the entire murder case through the two accused and others. It is worth noting that on the morning of July 28 this year, Uttam Anand was out for a morning walk at Randhir Verma Chowk, when an autorickshaw hit him from behind. Dhanbad police later confiscated the autorickshaw and arrested the driver Lakhan Verma and his associate Rahul Verma.
