Former Jharkhand minister and Mandar MLA Bandhu Tirkey has filed a criminal appeal petition in the High Court. He has challenged the sentence given by the special CBI court recently. Advocate Nilesh Kumar of the High Court has filed this petition on behalf of Bandhu Tirkey. The petition has sought quashing of the sentence awarded by the special CBI court in the disproportionate assets case.

A special CBI court at Ranchi’s Civil Court had recently sentenced the brothers to three years’ imprisonment in the disproportionate assets case. Along with this, a fine of Rs 3 lakh was also imposed. Against this, Bandhu Tirkey has approached the High Court. Through a criminal appeal petition filed in the High Court on behalf of Bandhu Tirkey, the sentence given by the special CBI court has been challenged in the past.
