IMA Jharkhand secretary Dr Pradeep Kumar Singh said that the representatives of the doctors’ associations met the state health minister Banna Gupta during the day and discussed various issues.

State Health Minister Banna Gupta held a meeting with representatives of the Jharkhand Medical Service Association and the state wing of the Indian Medical Association.

These organizations are demanding more protection at the workplace with amendments to the Clinical Establishments Act. The minister said the government was working for a “constructive solution to the issues”. Also said that during a meeting of doctors’ associations, they decided to call off the proposed strike on March 13.

Doctors in the state boycotted one-day services on March 1 to protest the repeated attacks on doctors. They also took out a candle march on 5th March.
