B Raut, quoting the FIR, said that the girl and her mother are originally residents of Dumka district and were on their way back after attending an event organized in Deoghar on Sunday when they were attacked in Madhupur area. Acting on the complaint of the girl’s mother, two people have been taken into custody, he said.

According to the FIR, five men on two motorcycles came and surrounded them and later tried to forcibly take the daughter to the other side. According to the complaint, the mother tried to stop them, on which the accused thrashed her and raped the daughter in front of her.
