On Tuesday, an unidentified person shot a police constable in Dumka town of Jharkhand. He was seriously injured in the incident. The injured has been admitted to the hospital for treatment. The police are involved in the investigation of the matter.
Dumka city station in-charge Nitish Kumar said that on Monday, 44-year-old Sujit Kumar Boipai, posted in Dumka’s Ramgarh police station, suffered a leg injury after being shot near a church. The incident took place when Boipai was getting down from the bus and going towards the residence of the sub-divisional officer. The police constable had parked his motorcycle.
Boipai told Kumar that the attacker had asked the mang constable for his bag, but the constable refused to give the bag. On resisting, the accused opened fire on the constable and fled the spot riding a bike. It has been told that the bike-riding miscreant tried to rob the constable from his bag. The police officer says that the constable has been shot with a gun. the matter is being investigated. Soon the accused will be arrested. The police is investigating the matter
