Jharkhand: Burnt body of pregnant woman found in field, father lodged complaint against husband and Jethani

A sensational case has come to light from Seraikela-Kharsawan district of Jharkhand. Here on Wednesday, the half-burnt body of a four-month-old pregnant woman was found in a paddy field.

The father of the deceased had lodged a police complaint against her husband and the man’s sister-in-law, alleging that a 24-year-old woman was strangled to death after she was set ablaze on Tuesday night. Based on the FIR, the husband of the deceased (28 years) has been taken into custody for questioning.

According to the complaint, the husband of the deceased used to demand a motorcycle as dowry and for this he was torturing her. She (deceased) had also allegedly caught her husband and his brother in a compromising position. After this he threatened her not to reveal it to anyone.

The deceased and her husband got married in March this year. Seraikela police station in-charge Inspector Ram Anoop Mahato said, the body has been given for post-mortem. Further investigation is on.
