Ulajh movie review

The Hindustan Times review of Ulajh reads: While Ulajh is not a complete disappointment, it is a missed opportunity to explore complex themes and ideas. The impressive cast and technical brilliance are overshadowed by the film’s narrative shortcomings. Despite its flaws, Ulajh is a step in the right direction for Janhvi Kapoor. It demonstrates her willingness to take on challenging roles and showcases her growing maturity as an actor. While the film may not reinvent the spy thriller genre, it certainly offers a fresh perspective.

In the movie, Janhvi plays Suhana, an Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer. Under intense scrutiny, she must expertly navigate a difficult mission at the London embassy as the youngest Deputy High Commissioner.

After ‘Mr. and Mrs. Mahi’, this is Janhvi’s second theatrical release of the year. Her film ‘Mili’ had the poorest opening weekend in theatres, earning just Rs 50 lakh on its first day. The film ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi’, starring Rajkummar Rao and produced by Dharma Productions, made Rs 7 crore its first day.
