Jackie also called Ranbir real hero.
Karan Johar said that Ranbir Kapoor must also break hearts, Jackie Shroff denied this and said that he’s the heartbroken one.
Ranbir Kapoor has established himself as a masterful actor today after garnering praise for performances in films like Rockstar, Barfi and recently, Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal. Several actors and filmmakers across the Indian film industry have showered him with praise. However, another aspect of Ranbir’s life that is often spoken about is his romantic relationships. Jackie Shroff even called him Devdas once.
During an appearance on Karan Johar’s popular chat show, Koffee with Karan, Jackie Shroff was asked to name actors who could be in the remakes of his films. When asked who could star in the remake of Devdas, Jackie said, “Ranbir, hamesha dil toot te rehta hai bechare ka. He’s such a darling.”
Jackie’s response left Karan in splits. The filmmaker then said, “Voh shayad dil todta bhi hoga.” Jackie responded, “Nahi, toot ta hai bachche ka dil.” Karan said, “How sweet.” Jackie Shroff also said that if not for his son Tiger Shroff, Ranbir Kapoor could also headline Real Hero.
Ranbir Kapoor’s love life came under the spotlight after he began dating Deepika Padukone. After Deepika, Ranbir dated Katrina Kaif and then Alia Bhatt. While it did not work out with the other two actresses, Ranbir and Alia found their forever love and ended up getting married on April 14, 2022.
Ranbir and Alia had an intimate ceremony in the presence of their close friends and family at their Mumbai residence. In November of the same year, the couple welcomed their daughter, Raha.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Ranbir Kapoor is currently working on Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana. He also has Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War in his pipeline. Announced in January this year, the film will also star Vicky Kaushal and Alia Bhatt in key roles. It is slated to hit theatres on Christmas 2025.
Recently, News18 Showsha exclusively learnt that the film go on floors in November this year. “The shoot of Love And War will begin in Mumbai but a set for the same is yet to be constructed. The film will have some elaborate song sequences and for the same, Bhansali is personally still in discussions with his production design team. As for Vicky, when he will join the shoot still remains unclear,” a source close to the production told us.
Bhansali also opened up about Love and War last month when he told Variety, “It’s a love story that I’m making after a long time. A slightly contemporary work, different from the dances, pillars, architecture, drapes, curtains and jewellery [of “Heeramandi”]. It’s a new language, milieu and ambience for me. I needed [it] very much to excite me as a filmmaker to do something new, to speak of a different period, a different set of characters and new circumstances.”
