Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Sunday hit out at the opposition for boycotting the traditional tea party ahead of the state assembly budget session. He said that it was good that those having links with terrorist Dawood Ibrahim did not participate in it.

Talking to the media, Shinde said that instead of calling our Shiv Sena-BJP alliance anti-Maharashtra, would you not call such people anti-national. Also said that there are some people in the opposition parties who have had relations with Dawood Ibrahim’s sister Haseen Parkar.

Actually, the budget session of the state assembly is starting from Monday and will continue till March 25. Due to this, the opposition parties Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) and Congress boycotted the Tea Party.

Shinde sarcastically pointed to Malik
Shinde’s reference was to former state minister and NCP leader Nawab Malik, who has been in jail since his arrest last year in a money-laundering case linked to the activities of Dawood Ibrahim and his associates.

CM said – doing what Balasaheb Thackeray had taught
CM said that Ajit Pawar is saying that I changed my allegiance (from Uddhav Thackeray to BJP), but he should not forget that I am still doing what late Balasaheb Thackeray taught us. Even the decision of the Election Commission to give us the name and symbol proves this.
