IPL 2022, RR vs GT: His teammates should learn from him- Yuvraj hails Jos Buttler for his gentleman conduct

Former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh heaped praise on England wicket-keeper batter Jos Buttler amid the ongoing match between Rajasthan Royals vs Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022.

During the 12th over, when Jimmy Neesham was bowling to GT skipper Hardik Pandya, the latter pulled it away. As Jos pulled off a good slide to stop the ball, he touched the rope while trying to release the throw.

It looked like a decent effort but Buttler sent a signal to the umpire to check. However, replays showed the Englishman touching the boundary when throwing it back, giving freebies to Gujarat.

Buttler showed sportsmanship when he signalled the umpire that his legs may be touching the boundary ropes after an excellent fielding effort in the clash vs Gujarat Titans.

Singh appreciated a decent effort from Buttler as he was trying to save a boundary, but he was not sure whether he came in touch with the boundary rope while saving the ball as GT skipper Hardik Pandya missed a glance. The fact that Buttler asked for a third umpire referral without a false claim captured the attention of Yuvraj Singh.

Singh wrote on Twitter, “We still have gentleman in the game of cricket !!! @josbuttler other players should learn from him specially team mates !!! #IPL2022 #RRvGT.” (sic)

As soon as Singh praised the effort of Buttler, many people highlighted the last line of his tweet which says that Buttler’s teammates should learn from him. Fans pointed out that Yuvraj took a dig at RaviChandran Ashwin as he had been facing issues with him since the days the off-spinner was the captain of Punjab Kings.
