iOS 18 Update Is Here For iPhone Users But No Sign of Apple Intelligence: Here’s The Reason – News18

Last Updated:

iOS 18 update is rolling out for iPhone users this week.

The iOS 18 update is Apple’s biggest in years for iPhone users who will finally get a taste of the Apple Intelligence features and the new-look Siri.

iOS update is rolling out for a wide range of iPhones on Monday who also get a closer look at the new features from Apple. The new iOS version also brings more customisation options for the home screen and even the ability to change the size of the apps that you place on the front display of the iPhone. However, some of you might be left disappointed that the AI features that Apple has talked about over the last few months and even at the iPhone 16 launch event have not shown up. Well, there is a reason for that and we tell you here.

iOS 18 Update Is Here But Where Are The AI Features?

Apple has managed to push the new iOS 18 update before the iPhone 16 series goes on sale later this week. This is a feat that Apple’s rival Google has not been able to fulfil this year because of the advance Pixel 9 series launch in August. But the biggest deal about Apple’s most-important iOS update in years was supposed to be its Apple Intelligence or AI features and there’s no sign of it with the new update?

So, where is it?

Apple’s highly anticipated AI features are facing delay. The new AI features will be only rolling out with the iOS 18.1 update that is expected to be offered in October this year. The report from Bloomberg a few weeks back said the delay helps Apple fix any bugs in the iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 versions, done via the developer and the beta program over the next few weeks. Even when the update rolls out with AI features, you will need the following iPhones to try it out:

– iPhone 15 Pro

– iPhone 15 Pro Max

– iPhone 16

– iPhone 16 Plus

– iPhone 16 Pro

– iPhone 16 Pro Max

Apple has seen its rivals Google and Microsoft race far ahead with their AI tools and features. AI features have been lauded and criticised in equal measures, and both Google-Microsoft have faced the ire of the public and critics. Apple will surely want to avoid major lapses at its end, and ensure the AI is not only accurate but also preserve its promise of keeping the data secure.

So, it is better that Apple delays the AI update for iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 rather than go ahead with a half-baked update that brings more problems for the company than get people excited for the future.
