Microsoft Windows, Office and even the Cloud customers have got a major security warning from the Indian government this week. The issue has been addressed by Microsoft as well but it is vital that millions of Windows and Office users in the country remain vigilant to possible hacking attempts on the affected systems and update them right away with the latest Windows and Office patch issued by the company.

Microsoft Security Warning: What The CERT-In Alert Says

The security alert from the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team or CERT-In dated September 11 comes with a high severity rating which affects the following Microsoft products:

– Microsoft Windows

– Microsoft Office

– Microsoft Dynamics

– Azure

– Extended Security Updates (ESU)

– Microsoft SQL Server

The CERT-In alert highlights the issues in its post which says, “Multiple vulnerabilities have been reported in Microsoft products which could allow an attacker to gain elevated privileges, obtain Information Disclosure, Bypass security restriction, conduct remote code execution attacks, perform spoofing attacks or cause denial of service (DoS) conditions.” You can get more in-depth details on these security risks on the CERT-In website.

The good news is that Microsoft has already looked into these issues and all these users are being asked to update their systems, software and other tools from the company right away.

In other Microsoft news, the company is hosting a new Copilot event later this month where Satya Nadella, CEO, Microsoft and his team will most likely talk about the new version of the AI assistant and a possible rebranding of Copilot to rival Gemini, ChatGPT and more.
