IND vs SA 3rd T20I: SKY’s Ton, Kuldeep’s Fifer Aids India To Series-Levelling 106-Run Win

Riding on a sensational hundred from Suryakumar Yadav, coupled with a five-wicket haul from Kuldeep Yadav, India registered a dominant 106-run win over South Africa at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. India’s victory ensures they manage to level the series 1-1 after going down 0-1 post a 5-wicket lost in Gqeberha. While Suryakumar scored 100 off 56 balls which helped the visitors post 201/6, birthday boy Kuldeep Yadav produced figures of 5/17 to break the spine of the opposition and help India seal the game.

Kuldeep’s wasn’t the only man who did the damage to South Africa’s batting as his spin-bowling partner Ravindra Jadeja also scalped 2 for 25. In addition, it was the pace-bowling duo of Mukesh Kumar and Arshdeep Singh who picked a wicket each while one wicket fell to a run-out. For South Africa, it was David Miller who top-scored with 35 off 25.

Earlier, other than Suryakumar’s knock, it was Yashasvi Jaiswal who impressed and scored 60 off 41. The two added 112 runs off 70 balls for the third wicket and put the foundation of the score which the touring contingent eventually managed after Keshav Maharaj picked 2 wickets in 2 balls, getting rid of Shubman Gill and Tilak Varma off successive balls.

Suryakumar Yadav Injures Ankle In IND vs SA 3rd T20I

Meanwhile, Suryakumar injured his ankle while attempting to field a ball during South Africa’s run-chase. The injury seemed serious initially with the captain being forced to leave and not in a position to walk on his own. However, Suryakumar, who was adjudged the Player Of The Match for his 4th T20I ton, said that the injury does not seem that bad and came to collect the award himself without any support.

“I am good. I am able to walk so it is not that serious. It was wonderful scoring a hundred, and especially when it comes in a winning cause. One box we wanted to tick was play fearless brand of cricket. Really happy the boys showed a lot of character. Kuldeep is never happy with a three-for or a four-for. A perfect self birthday present,” Suryakymar told the broadcasters at the post-match presentation.
