The Indian bowlers have been finding it difficult due to the torrid heat in Mohali which has event forced some of the bowlers to step out for a short break as well.

The final stretch for preparation before the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup is underway with India going against Australia in the 1st ODI. After winning the toss, skipper, KL Rahul chose to bowl first. But the Indian bowlers are facing the heat as the weather in Mohali has been ruthless.

The weather in Mohali is at 33 degrees Celsius with severe heat being expected till the evening when the temperature would cool down a bit.

The Indian fast bowlers have been facing the brunt of the heat as they have been struggling to continue after bowling long spells in the burning heat.

Shardul Thakur had to call for drinks in between his over as he was not able to continue without getting some fluids in.

Mohammed Shami also had taken a short break as he stepped off the pitch for some time but managed to make it back in the game as well.

Bumrah has been labouring himself to the boundary line after completing his over.

To add to their problems the Indian side has gone with only five bowlers in their playing XI which will really test the resolve of the Indian bowlers.

The torrid heat could also be a reason for the low attendance for the match, but it could pick up later in the game as the weather cools down a bit.

Mohammed Shami was able to display his quality as he got the wicket of opening batter, Mitchell Marsh in quick time. He also picked the crucial wicket of Steven Smith who returned to the ODI side after a span of six months. He will look to get himself into the best form possible with the ODI World Cup coming up soon.

Both sides will also keep note of the weather conditions as well as they will be requried to travel to different venues to play their respective games in the World Cup.
