The ICC World Cup 2023 final between India and Australia is set to captivate fans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The anticipation has created a fervent atmosphere not only in Ahmedabad but across the nation. Due to the heavy traffic expected, strict restrictions will be in place, especially on the route from Shanti Niketan (Junior) School Road to Motera Stadium. As the cricket fever heightens, certain roads in Ahmedabad will witness restrictions and diversions to facilitate smooth movement.
The movement of vehicles is restricted on several roads near Narendra Modi Stadium. There is a restriction on vehicle movement from Janpath T to the main gate of Motera Stadium. Movement of vehicles from Kripa Residence to the main gate of Motera Stadium is also restricted from 11 AM to 12 noon.
Heavy traffic diversion will be enforced from Madhur Dairy towards Tapovan Circle, diverting towards Dayanand Saraswati Circle.
According to a notification released by the office of Gandhinagar Collector and District Magistrate, the entry of heavy vehicles will be prohibited on the road from Bhat Koteshwar Chowk towards Motera to Shanti Niketan (Junior) School, ABP Asmita reported. Heavy vehicles coming from Mother Dairy will have to be diverted to Tapovan Circle via Apollo Circle.
Exceptions will be made for vehicles related to the cricket match, government vehicles, fire brigade, ambulances, and vehicles involved in emergency situations.
Security has been significantly heightened for the event. Around 4,000 police personnel are deployed inside the stadium, including one Inspector General (IG), 20 Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), 145 Police sub-inspector (PSI), and 13 Deputy Commissioner Of Police (DCP) for security. Additionally, 4 IGPs, 27 ACPs, and 230 PSI will be positioned in the city, as reported by ABP Asmita. Traffic management will include one IGP, 11 ACP, and 36 PSI.
The match, amidst this elaborate security arrangement, promises an electric atmosphere with over a lakh spectators, including various politicians and celebrities, attending. The state government has coordinated efforts to ensure the safety, cleanliness, and traffic management during this high-profile event.
