IND vs AFG 3rd T20I LIVE: There’s More To This Bengaluru ‘Dead Rubber’ Than Meets The Eye

IND vs AFG 3rd T20I SCORE LIVE: While India have already bagged the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan with a match to go, the remaining T20I of this series still seems far from a dead rubber. What makes this different is the fact that this will be Team India’s final T20I before the T20 World Cup in June and there are still plenty of questions that remain unanswered. The Bengaluru T20I in this sense is the last opportunity to play together and figure out a template which can potentially earn their ICC title drought.

For beginners, India have not won the toss and batted first even once. It would be interesting to see if they do that or are forced to do that in Bengaluru, yet another venue where teams usually like to chase. They seem to be comfortable chasing but then when such a situation might game in a crunch game where they are forced to bat first won’t auger well for a team which has avoided that situation during preparatory phase.

That means there is surely more to it than meets the eye in the final match of the series for both the sides. For Afghanistan too, it would be an opportunity to challenge themselves against a stronger opponent in a format where they would perhaps rate themselves the best. Rahmanullah Gurbaz did get a start for the visitors in Indore but can he carry on to bat deeper into the innings will be one thing that could well determine the fate of the match.

For India, Rohit has not scored a run in this series while Axar Patel has been superb in the both the T20Is, bagging the Player of the Match in the one in Indore. Eyes will be on both of them for different reasons.

All said and done though, the stage looks set for a superb game of cricket.
