Ind v SA: Virat Kohli Surpasses Sachin, Dhoni To Become India’s Highest Run-Getter In Away ODIs

New Delhi: Star batter Virat Kohli on Wednesday surpassed ‘Master Blaster’ Sachin Tendulkar to become the highest run-scorer for the Indian cricket team in away One-Day-Internationals. The 33-year-old attained the big milestone during India vs South Africa 1st ODI at the Boland Park in Paarl.

Former India skipper Virat leapfroged batting legend Sachin Tendulkar after scoring 9 runs in the ongoing Ind vs SA 1st ODI. Sachin earlier held the record with 5065 runs in away ODIs while playing for team India.

Earlier, Rassie van der (129*) and Temba Bavuma (110) stitched a solid 204 run stand for the fourth wicket to power the Proteas to mammoth 296/4 against India. The record-breaking partnership between Rassie and Bavuma is the 2nd highest by a South African batting pair in 50-overs format.

Virat Kohli – 5068* runs

Sachin Tendulkar – 5065 runs

MS Dhoni – 4520 runs
