First igloo made in 2012
Tashi Dorje of Lahaul Spiti and two youths from Hamta village of Manali built their own Igloo house for the first time in the year 2012. It was from here that both got the idea of ​​connecting it with winter tourism. After this, after about 4 years of study, both started making Igloo houses for tourists. Both of them get good income from Igloo house during winter tourism every year.

Apart from India, the concept of Igloo house is already there in Finland, Switzerland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Canada. They have a big contribution in the winter tourism there. These igloo houses built in Manali on the lines of foreign countries are also running very well.
