Gunshots were fired Monday evening at Israeli troops stationed in the northern West Bank, the military said.
According to the Israel Defense Forces, soldiers stationed near the town of Beita returned fire.
No injuries were reported.
Additional forces were conducting a sweep of the area and several roads were closed.
The incident followed a similar shooting near the West Bank settlement of Itamar earlier Monday. There were also no injuries in that incident.
The pair of attacks come amid a recent surge of violence in the West Bank.
On Sunday morning, Palestinian gunmen opened fire at several Israeli vehicles driving near the settlement of Elon Moreh, lightly injuring a taxi driver and damaging the windshield of a bus.

Later that evening, an Israeli soldier was lightly hurt, after shots were fired at a military checkpoint near Nablus.
An armed Palestinian faction calling itself Lion’s Den claimed responsibility for both shootings in separate statements.
Palestinian gunmen in recent months have targeted military posts, troops operating along the West Bank security barrier, Israeli settlements and civilians on the roads.
The Israel Defense Forces and police have been on heightened alert since the beginning of the Jewish high holidays last week, with tensions already high due to an Israeli anti-terror operation that has seen over 100 Palestinians killed and more than 2,000 arrested in nightly raids in the West Bank.
Israeli troops have also repeatedly come under gunfire during nightly raids in Palestinian cities in the West Bank.
The military launched the arrest operations after a series of attacks that killed 19 people between mid-March and the beginning of May.
