Punjab’s senior IAS officer Sanjay Popli, trapped in the corruption case, said that his son Karthik Popli has been murdered. Vigilance shot the son standing in front of him. I am an eyewitness to it. Mother also held Vigilance responsible
Earlier, Kartik Popli’s mother Shri Popli also held Vigilance responsible for the son’s death. He said that his son was taken to the top floor of the house by Vigilance. There he is shot. She said that till the time the policemen responsible for her son’s death do not get their uniforms removed, I will not wash my hands with blood.
Vigilance has denied the allegation
Vigilance DSP Ajay Kumar said that his team did raid but it has nothing to do with the death of Karthik Popli. He came to know about this when his team had returned. He didn’t even go inside the house. After the confession of Sanjay Popli, recovery has been done from the storeroom built in the courtyard of the house.
12 and a half kg gold found from Sanjay Popli’s house
Vigilance team recovered 12 and a half kg gold from Sanjay Popli’s house. It also includes 9 bricks of one kg each. At the same time, 3 bricks of silver weighing one kg each were also recovered. Apart from this, 4 Iphones, a Samsung phone, 2 smartwatches were also recovered. Popli has been arrested by Vigilance for taking 1% commission from a contractor of Karnal in Haryana for sewerage project worth 7.30 crores.
