The investigation wing of the income tax (I-T) department has found details of at least 36 properties worth over Rs 130 crore during searches at 35 premises belonging to Shiv Sena corporator Yashwant Jadhav and five private contractors, reports Vijay V. Singh.
The I-T department found receipts indicating cash payment of over Rs 120 crore in the past year, mainly to corporators. Evidence that the persons searched are involved in international hawala transactions, said an I-T department press release. While the I-T department seized undisclosed cash totallling Rs 2 crore , it also seized digital evidence.
