Hugh Jackman tests positive for COVID; actor confirms on Twitter – Times of India

Hugh Jackman confirmed that he has tested positive for COVID. The actor took to Twitter to share that he had only mild symptoms, including a scratchy throat and runny nose, and that as soon as he was cleared he would be back on stage.

Performances of Broadway’s ‘The Music Man’ has been cancelled after the lead star, Jackman, revealed that he has been infected by the Coronavirus. Reportedly, the producers announced that all performances of the musical would be cancelled until January 01.

Sharing a video on Twitter, Hugh wrote, “Just wanted you to hear it from me. I tested positive for covid. Mild symptoms and as soon as I’m cleared … looking forward to getting back to The Winter Garden! @MusicManBway.”

In the video, the ‘Wolverine’ actor said, “My symptoms are like a cold. I have a scratchy throat and a bit of a runny nose, but I’m fine. And I’m just gonna do everything I can to get better ASAP. And as soon as I’m cleared, I’ll be back on stage, heading to River City. Please stay safe, Be healthy, be kind.”

The Hollywood star tested positive after his co-star Sutton Foster got infected by the virus last week and was replaced by an understudy. Foster will return on January 2 but Jackson is expected to be out until Jan. 6.
