In Haryana’s Gurugram, the police have arrested a gang running a honeytrap (sextortion) racket. Police has arrested 3 people including husband and wife. The accused first trapped a transporter in their trap and then blackmailed him by making an obscene video of him and extorted Rs 60 lakh cash, furniture of the house, Creta vehicle. The accused did not stop here and demanded another Rs 30 lakh. After this, the police arrested all the three accused.
Befriended by pretending to be divorced
A woman named Pinky, who was caught by the police, is very clever. He first befriended a transporter through social media by telling himself a divorcee and then called him to his house on the pretext of meeting. It is alleged that after getting the transporter drunk, he made an obscene video of him.
After the obscene video, Pinky along with her husband started blackmailing the transporter. The 31-year-old accused woman Pinky was running this entire racket. Her husband Tarun was also involved in the racket.
Used to do dry fruit business to seduce
Gurugram police said that the accused woman Pinky used to work in a bank till some time ago. But his dreams were bigger. To live a luxurious life, she started running a honeytrap racket with her husband.
To avoid the eyes of the people, both of them joined another partner and formed a company to sell dry fruits. But the real work was not to sell dry fruits, but all three used to work for sextortion. Had recovered 60 lakh cash, home furniture, lot of jewelery and Creta vehicle from the transporter by threatening to make the obscene video viral.
When the demand for money increased, the transporter reached the police
The three accused did not stop even after taking lakhs of rupees in cash and goods from the transporter. Their demand was increasing continuously and once again demanded 30 lakh cash from the transporter, but this time instead of giving the money, the transporter approached the Gurugram police and gave a complaint against all three. The police, along with the female police constable, laid a trap to nab the accused and then arrested the accused red-handed.
How many people were victimised, will ask in remand: ACP
Police Gurugram Police’s ACP Crime Preetpal said that the arrested accused are Pinky, her husband Tarun and their partner Prithvipal. All three have been produced in the court and taken on remand. During the remand, it will be ascertained as to how many more people he has victimized in this way. Along with this, cash and goods will also be recovered from the transporter. At present the accused are being interrogated.
