22 districts of Assam have been affected by the floods. Here the water of the Brahmaputra river came in spate due to incessant rains.

Monsoon which arrived in India after 7 days delay has reached Bihar. Monsoon is likely to reach Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh in the next three days.

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rains in Madhya Pradesh till June 26. Whereas in UP, 5 people have died due to rain in 24 hours.

Nearly 5 lakh people have been affected by the floods caused by the rains in Assam. 1366 villages were submerged in water. Due to flood, crops of more than 14 thousand hectares were submerged in water.

In Assam, 22 districts including Bajli, Baksa, Barpeta, Biswanath, Bongaigaon, Chirang, Darrang, Dhemaji, Dhubri, Dibrugarh, Golaghat have been worst affected.

Northeast – Rain in Assam, Meghalaya, Sikkim for next 5 days
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for rain in the eastern states of the country, Assam, Meghalaya, Sikkim for the next 5 days. Assam and Meghalaya will receive heavy rains on June 23. Apart from this, there will be rains in Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh till June 23.
