- Heart Failure In Youth; First Time Expert Team To Investigate Causes Of Heart Attack

The Union Health Ministry is worried about the increasing cases of sudden heart attack deaths of healthy youth while playing. Due to the increasing cases of heart attack after Corona, the needle of suspicion is also going on Kovid or the medicines and vaccines taken to avoid it. There is also a possibility of adverse effects on health due to the changes in food and lifestyle due to the lockdown. For the first time, there will be a comprehensive study of the reasons for the increasing cases of heart attack.
Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has asked the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) to study the increasing cases of myocardial infarction ie heart attack. According to sources, in the study, ICMR with the help of National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) has adopted a model to understand the nuances of accidental death in two ways. Separate teams of experts have been formed to study both the models.
Team of Experts: It has experts in Forensic Medicine, Radiology, Neurology, Cardiology, Pathology.
Monitoring as well: Epidemiologists, clinicians, pathologists, forensic medicine experts and public health experts have been included in this.
Study will be done in these 2 ways

shall be of retrospective case control. In this, the complete case history till sudden death will be seen. In this, the physical and mental conditions of the patient after the recent Kovid infection and its treatment methods and recovery will be considered. |

This is a prospective (future oriented) method. There will be a virtual autopsy. This technique has started in AIIMS 2 years ago. Instead of dissecting the dead body, about 25,000 images will be taken in a few seconds by placing it in a CT scan. |
Heart attack cases accounted for 28% of total deaths in 26 years.
The government recently quoted an ICMR report in the Rajya Sabha that 28.1% of the total deaths in 2016 were due to heart attacks and heart diseases. Whereas in the year 1990, this figure was 15.2%. According to the report, the reason for deaths due to heart attack is mainly the use of tobacco and alcohol, increasing junk food and less physical activity.
