Hearing in SC on PM’s security lapse today: final seal will be put on the inquiry committee, the name of the retired judge will also be final

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will have an important hearing in the Supreme Court today on the security lapse in Ferozepur. In this the investigation committee of the matter will be approved. At the same time, the name of a retired judge of the Supreme Court will also be stamped as the head of this committee.

The Supreme Court had talked about forming a new committee in the PM’s security lapse case. This committee will be headed by a retired SC judge, in which IG of NIA, DGP of Chandigarh, ADGP Security of Punjab and Registrar General of Punjab Haryana High Court have been kept.

Center and state investigation closed

After the lapse in the security of the PM, the central and state government had started investigation. The state constituted an inquiry committee headed by retired High Court Justice Mehtab Singh Gill along with Home Secretary Anurag Verma. At the same time, the Center also formed an inquiry committee headed by the Security Secretary with Intelligence Bureau and SPG officers. When the matter reached the Supreme Court, both these investigations were now closed. Central security agencies and Punjab Police are under question in the matter of PM’s security lapse.

PM stayed on flyover for 15-20 minutes

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had come to Punjab on 5 January. He was to address an election rally in Ferozepur along with laying the foundation stone of 42 thousand projects. The PM had left by road due to bad weather. However, on reaching Pyareana village, he had to stop on the flyover. Some people had blocked the highway ahead. The PM stood for about 15 to 20 minutes on the Pyareana flyover. After this the PM’s convoy returned. After returning to Bathinda, the PM told the officers of Punjab to thank his CM that I am going back alive. After which the matter of PM’s security lapse came to light.
