Dera Sacha Sauda Chief Ram Rahim.
Hearing on the petition of Dera Sacha Sauda Mukhi Ram Rahim was held in Punjab and Haryana High Court today. During this, the lawyer of Dera Mukhi kept his side for about 2 hours. Raising the question, he said that the Punjab government does not have the right to withdraw the investigation of the case from the CBI by passing a resolution in the assembly like this. The sacrilege should be probed by the CBI. The next hearing of the matter will be on August 2. Dera Mukhi is currently lodged in Rohtak’s Sunaria Jail in several serious cases.
Recently, the new SIT of Punjab Police named Dera Mukhi as the mastermind in all the sacrilege cases. CM Bhagwant Mann recently submitted a 467-page report to the Sikh leaders. In which it was claimed that if Ram Rahim’s MSG movie was not released, then a whole conspiracy was hatched to take revenge.
CM Bhagwant Mann had submitted the SIT investigation report to the Sikh leaders a few days ago, in which Dera Sacha Sauda Chief Ram Rahim has been described as the mastermind of the sacrilege cases.
Earlier SIT had investigation
In the year 2015, there were several cases of sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib in Punjab. For whose investigation the then Akali-BJP government had formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT). After this the investigation went to the CBI. Later, when the government changed, the investigation was withdrawn from the CBI by passing a resolution in the assembly.
Government told misuse of legal process
The Punjab government in the last hearing called it an abuse of legal process. The government said that the approval of the Supreme Court and the High Court has also been approved on the proposal of the assembly. This petition should be dismissed.
Ram Rahim gave these arguments
Ram Rahim argued in the High Court that on the statement of one of the accused, he was named in the sacrilege case. Then their production warrants were also issued. However, on the orders of the High Court, the new SIT of Punjab Police went to Sunaria Jail and interrogated him. Dera Mukhi said that he is being deliberately implicated in this case. Therefore, it is necessary to have a CBI inquiry into the case. For political interest, the investigation was handed over from the CBI to the SIT.
