Magh mela visitors have been advised not to feed migratory birds

Prayagraj: Divisional commissioner (Prayagraj division) Sanjay Goyal on Friday asked senior district and health officials to ensure that all officials, employees and workers engaged by different departments for Magh mela arrangements are fully vaccinated.
He asked officials to draft a department-wise list of officials and employees who have not received both the doses so far. Steps should be taken to ensure that every individual be fully vaccinated, he added.
Goyal laid stress on the need for maintaining health registers containing details of Adhaar cards and vaccination of members of every organization setting up camps at the mela venue as well as ‘kalpwasis’. He asked health officials to set up special teams to enforce Covid protocol on mela premises. Members of these dedicated teams would be imparted training for better coordination among various agencies looking after the mela arrangement.
The divisional commissioner suggested mela officials to launch two helpline numbers for visitors. Such facilities were also available at the 2019 Kumbh mela. He asked the officials to develop a mela app which would be offering all sorts of information and assistance to visitors.
Directives were also issued to install maps on the Magh mela campus so that devotees would not face any problem in locating their camps or other facilities to be provided by the mela administration.
