Haryana’s politics heats up on WFI controversy: Government silent, Congress encircles, said- investigation should be done under the supervision of Supreme Court

Politics has heated up in Haryana in the case of international wrestler Vinesh Phogat. Opposition parties have slammed the ruling BJP. Other opposition parties including Congress, AAP, INLD have questioned the silence of the government. Rajya Sabha member Dipendra Hooda has demanded dissolution of the sports association as well as an inquiry into the entire matter by the Supreme Court.

Rajya Sabha MP Deepender Hooda said that the government is the guardian, but till now the silence of the Haryana government in such a serious matter is surprising and disturbing. These players who have brought laurels to the country are the sons of our soil. How can the BJP-JJP government remain silent seeing such grave injustice being done to them?

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal holds the Sports Department. Earlier, Sandeep Singh was the Sports Minister, but after the allegations of junior women coach, the Chief Minister has withdrawn the sports department from him. The female coach has accused the then Sports Minister of sexual harassment. The Chandigarh Police is probing the matter.
