Harris Jayaraj to Yuvan Shankar Raja, South celebs remember KK with fond memories

Playback singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, popularly known as KK, breathed his last on May 31 evening. He was in Kolkata for a concert and collapsed after performing on stage. Tamil music composers Harris Jayaraj, Santhosh Narayanan and Yuvan Shankar Raja took to social media to remember KK with fond memories. He was 53 years old. KK is survived by his wife, Jyothy, and two children – his son and daughter.

Playback singer KK’s sudden demise sent shockwaves across the nation. Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Vishal Dadlani and the entire Indian music fraternity were devastated to hear the sad news.

Composer Harris Jayaraj and KK gave us the famous Uyirin Uyire from Suriya-Jyotika starrer Kaaka Kaaka. Harris took to Twitter to inform that he had recorded KK’s for Konji Konji in the upcoming film, Legend.

He wrote, “My “Uyirin Uyire” passed away. RIP Singer KK. What a shocking news to hear when the whole world is praising his last song “Konji Konji”. I am completely shattered and my condolences to his family and friends (sic).”

Yuvan Shankar Raja wrote that this has been a sad week for the music community with the passing away of Sidhu Moose Wala and KK.

He wrote, “It’s been a sad week for the music community of our Country with Sidhu Moose Wala & now KK. Life is unpredictable & we never know what the next minute holds, you will be missed KK (sic).”

Santhosh Narayanan bid goodbye to his friend KK and called it a terrible loss. His post read, “Rest in Peace my friend. Such a terrible loss. KK’s magical voice and music will resonate with us forever (sic).”
