GANDHI JAYANTI 2022: India celebrates the birth anniversary of “Bapu”, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, on October 2, as Gandhi Jayanti. Gandhi Ji, also known as Mahatma Gandhi, was born in 1869 in Gujarat’s Porbandar. This year, marks the 153rd birth anniversary of the great freedom fighter. Because Gandhiji believed in, and propagated non-violence, his birth anniversary is also commemorated as the International Day of Non-violence.
