Twenty-one US citizens have died fighting for Israel in the Gaza invasion, the Washington Post reported. Another died along Israel’s northern border with Lebanon, while a 23rd US citizen was killed in Jerusalem while serving in border police. Hamas has said the attack on a highway near the Maale Adumim settlement is a “natural response to the [Israeli] occupation’s massacres”. Israeli Far-Right Minister Bezalel Smotrich demanded the building of thousands of new housing units for illegal settlers in response to the attack. Israeli Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir said the “right to life of Jewish residents of Judea and Samaria outweighs the freedom of movement of Palestinians”.
