GST collection of Rs 1,43,612 crore was done in August 2022. This is 28 percent more than the month of August last year. For the sixth consecutive month, the GST collection has exceeded 1.4 lakh crores. The Finance Ministry gave this information on Thursday.
The Finance Ministry has said in its statement that there has been a positive growth in GST revenue due to better GST reporting along with economic reforms.
The gross GST revenue collected in August 2022 was Rs 1,43,612 crore, of which Central GST (CGST) is Rs 24,710 crore, State GST (SGST) is Rs 30,951 crore. The collection in the form of Integrated GST has been Rs 77,782 crore of which Rs 42,067 crore has been collected as tax on import of goods. At the same time, Rs 10,168 crore has been recovered as cess in the month of August.
28% increase in GST collection as compared to August last year
In the month of August last year, a collection of Rs 1,12,020 crore was made as GST revenue. This time it registered an increase of 28% in the month of August.
