Good rains in 55% of the country, waiting in the rest: 154 roads closed in Uttarakhand; Heavy rain alert in 24 states for next three days

Heavy rains lashed Rajasthan’s Jaipur on Friday, causing water-logging on Ajmer Road.

Southwest Monsoon has covered nearly 55% of the country since June 1. Heavy rains are still awaited in the remaining 45%. According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon is expected to be very active for the next two weeks.

It rained in more than 20 states on Friday. Due to this, there is a flood-like situation in many areas of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Kerala, Coastal Goa-Karnataka and Nagaland. 154 roads have been closed in Uttarakhand due to heavy rains.

Here, the people of Assam have once again come under the grip of floods. According to the Friday evening report of the Assam State Disaster Management Authority, about 22,000 people in 121 villages in 6 districts are affected by the floods.

Heavy rain will occur in these states: Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Sikkim, West Bengal, Assam, Tripura, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Goa , Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

Light rain will occur in these states: Light to moderate rain with lightning may occur over Bihar, Telangana and Jammu and Kashmir.

The weather will be clear in these states: There is no possibility of rain in Rayalseema of Andhra Pradesh, Marathawad of Maharashtra and Gangetic West Bengal.
