A large fire broke out in the Gokulpuri area of Delhi in the dark of night. Six people were killed when a fire broke out in a hut there. According to the Delhi Fire Department, they received a phone call around 1 pm regarding the fire. By that time, 60 huts were engulfed in flames. 30 huts are practically burnt down in the blink of an eye. To bring the situation under control, 13 fire engines went to the area.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has expressed grief over the incident. He said he would visit the area soon. Kejriwal said in his tweet, ‘This is a very sad event. I will go to the area and meet the victims. ‘Such a fire incident has naturally spread unrest in the area. Meanwhile, the fire brigade said that the identities of the six bodies recovered were not yet known. Fire officials said the six were believed to have been burned while asleep.
