Guwahati: Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on Friday lodged an FIR against three Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) employees alleging fraud in medical reimbursement bills.
The accused employees are Hiteswar Das, Surjyakanta Boro and Debajoit Konwar.
GMCH superintendent Abhijit Sarma said, “On suspicion, we have cross-checked their medical reimbursement bills where we found forged signatures of the members of the state-level medical referral board. Therefore, we have filed an FIR in the matter.”
The state-level medical referral board comprises Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) principal as chairperson, GMCH superintendent as member secretary and three members.
A government official has to submit a medical referral certificate approved by the medical board along with the medical reimbursement bills to their respective departments.
