Punjab’s new working DGP Gaurav Yadav.

Orders were issued late night to appoint Gaurav Yadav, a 1992 batch IPS officer, as the new working DGP of Punjab. He will take charge from DGP VK Bhavra today. Bhavra will go on leave for 2 months from today. He has applied for deputation in the centre. Yadav hails from Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh. His father-in-law PC Dogra has also been the DGP of Punjab.

Senior officers from his batch have been removed from key posts before Gaurav Yadav took charge. Prabodh Kumar of 1988 batch was Special DGP Intelligence, he has now been posted in Human Rights Commission. Sanjeev Kalda of 1989 batch has been posted as Special DGP Home Guard from Punjab Police Housing Corporation.

Srivastava new ADGP Security, Aulakh in charge of Intelligence
After handing over the charge to Gaurav Yadav, the government has made a big reshuffle in the Punjab Police. Sudhanshu Srivastava has been made the new ADGP Security of Punjab. At the same time, IG Jatinder Aulakh will look after the charge of intelligence as ADGP. Apart from this, Sharad Satya Chauhan has been given the charge of Punjab Police Housing Corporation. Harpreet Sidhu will continue to hold the charge of STF’s DGP and prisons. Kuldeep Singh will be the DGP of the Internal Vigilance Cell.
